If you are reading this, we hope that you will be coming to live with us at either Holly Tree House or Charnwood House.
We hope you like the look of our homes. You will be able to make your room just how you would like it and we will take you shopping to buy the things that you would like to make it feel nice and homely.
You may have seen from the rest of the website, that we will have a maximum of 3 young people living with us at Holly Tree House and 4 young people at Charnwood House who might be a mixture of genders.
Holly Tree House is not too far from Rugby, Daventry and Northampton and we love to go out exploring, shopping, to the cinema, swimming, trampolining, bike riding and any other activity that you enjoy or want to try out!
Charnwood House is based in Loughborough and is in between Leicester and Nottingham. Loughborough is a lovely town that has lots of things to do and places to go. The Queens Park is very close to the home, the town centre is within walking distance and has lots of shops, cafes, restaurants and activities. The schools and colleges in Loughborough are excellent and it even has a brilliant university.
If you are coming to live with us at either home, we hope you like the look of Holly Tree House or Charnwood House. We look forward to meeting you and your Social Worker for a visit before you move in so you can meet the care team and our other young people where possible. You will also see your bedroom so you can make plans of how you would like it to be decorated.
We will make sure to give you a Welcome Guide with more information of what life is like living with us.
We are just like any other family home and we will encourage you to maintain positive friendships and make new ones. In agreement with your social worker, you can visit friends and they can visit you at your new home.We love to have big celebrations for your Birthday and Christmas. We also celebrate other festivities, especially ones that you do and we enjoy decorating the house with you to make sure it’s extra special!
Here are just a few pictures of special celebrations we have had. Below that, are some comments from young people who have lived with us or currently live with us …

To all the staff @ HTH. Thanks for such an amazing half term and holiday. Love you all from the bottom of my heart!
To Everyone at Holly Tree House. Thanks for supporting me through everything because I wouldn’t be who I am today.
To Kez and the rest of the HTH staff. Thanks so much for finding me a new school
To the staff who got me into Green Acre, it has helped me a lot. And thanks for the support with everything. Love you all lots.
“So I moved here on 17th July 2020. I’ve had my ups and downs through this time. But mostly positive than negative. Each member of staff that has worked at Charnwood has been there for me through thick and thin. If you have a bad day they know and support you through it. Each member of staff want to be here and support us and I am very grateful. Through my time of being in care for a very long time, this is by far the best family home I’ve been in. I am always welcome by my peers and staff members to be a part of Charnwood each day. I appreciate all the work that everyone puts in. At first I didn’t want to live at Charnwood and it was only going to be a short term placement but it turned out to be my long term placement. I am very grateful for this as if I didn’t have this home I wouldn’t have a family to come home to each day. This isn’t just a home I live in and then leave when I’m 18, it’s a family. A family I look up to and treasure to begin my future and Charnwood House will always be a part of my life.”
“I like having my own room and own space. I like all the staff, they are really caring.”

“Watermead is an organisation that puts the welfare of it’s employees at the heart of everything they do. Staff have monthly supervision meetings with management and clinical supervision meetings with an independent counsellor. I find these meetings empowering and motivating as they professionally point to your strength and weaknesses. Staff are given regular development training in their areas of work to equip them and make them more efficient in their work. I find working for Watermead a pleasure as I have developed a lot in my area of work.”
“I have been working with Watermead for a year now and I absolutely love it. It isn’t just an incredibly rewarding role but equally challenging and without the support and guidance from the team I work with, I don’t think I would be as happy as I am. The company we work for and the people we work with are so important in this type of role and I feel proud to say that I work for Watermead, the people are what make the kid’s futures better and that’s why I want to be a part of this team.”
“I’ve not been with Wateread for long. In the short time that I have been here, I have found everyone – home, staff and management – to be friendly and supportive. I am enjoying working at Charnwood House and am hoping to be a more active part of the team now I’m part-time. I have experience and can honestly say that I feel like I’m being treated as an experienced staff member despite being new which makes me feel valued. The staff seem happy in their roles and everyone is very approachable and supportive. I like the fact that Watermead is a small company that are more focussed on a trauma-informed approach to behaviour and providing a more homely environment instead of an institutional one. It’s nice to see how much the young people benefit from this.”
“I am so happy that I made the decision to work for Watermead Care. The recruitment process was professional and the communication before and after was second to none. The training to ensure that you are fully prepared for your role was delivered by lovely professionals in a timely manner and enabled me to fulfil my role effectively and knowledgably. At Watermead Care, the management are lovely and efficient and I feel very well supported in my role. To have monthly Clinical Supervision is very helpful and the staff perks are great. The staff and young people at Watermead Care are great and a pleasure to work with. No two days are the same and that’s what keeps the role interesting. The shift pattern is great and the homes are welcoming and homely. If you are looking for a rewarding role as a Childcare Practitioner and want to work with a caring and supportive company, I cannot recommend Watermead Care enough!”
“Really enjoyed working at Holly Tree House it is a great place of work, great staff friendly, warm and welcoming and the home is a 5 star and children’s needs and interests are always put first.”
To all the staff @ HTH. Thank you Anne-Marie for all your support, you literally go above and beyond for us all and literally I’ve never ever experienced an amazing manager before you. I feel so lucky to apart of your team”
