Seems very open for the young peoples. Homely and they feel happy and safe

Holly Tree House is a really good environment and always welcoming with polite staff

“Charnwood was the YP’s first experience of a residential setting, and a long way from home and her support network. All the staff I have had contact with have been warm in their approach, knowledgeable and keen to work together. There is a reassuring sense of a joined up/shared approach with them, which I really value, given the distance and recent Covid restrictions; I have always felt she is well cared for, holistically.

I have found the staff really helpful and patient; with my YP and professionals alike. They have liaised really well with myself, particularly given the level of information available at the time.”

“Staff have picked up actions such as the bursary application that was not part of their remit but put my YP’s needs first to ensure they received the financial help they were entitled to and to prevent any further delay. They continue to support the YP to express themselves, and their views in an appropriate and safe way, for example, they made a short film they were happy to share discussing their personal journey yet still encouraged them to have high aspirations longer term also. Practically, they supported face to face university sites, thinking through education and practical needs, eg student living and budgeting.”

“Personally, the only negatives are the distance, and number of places they are able to offer; ideally I would like more! I would be very happy for other YP of mine to be there in the future.”
